Do you usually need assistance when opening new jars? Break the seal before you open a new jar by putting a spoon between the cap/lid and jar, with the bottom face of the spoon facing the jar, and press down to release the pressure. This technique loosens the lid so that you can twist it right off. If you’re having trouble with a previously opened jar, pat the bottom of the jar or hit the top of the lid with a wooden spoon.
