Napa Asian Salad

Wonderfully crunchy with a fresh taste, this salad makes a great side to serve with Shish Kabobs (made with Stock Yards tenderloin cubes) or steaks.  Alternatively, you can top the salad with grilled slices of our skinless chicken breasts.  With grilled chicken,  the salad becomes a meal.

Napa Asian Salad Recipe

Make the Dressing for this salad ahead, cover and refrigerate.

  • 1 cup salad oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar

Combine the Salad ingredients below and set aside:

  • 2 Heads Napa Cabbage.  Cut out the Core and slice diagonally.  Or as a time saver use 2 bags of pre-sliced Cole Slaw.
  • 5 Green Onions sliced

Combine the Topping ingredients and set aside:

  • 1 small package of slivered almonds
  • 2 packages of ramen noodles crumbled..  Discard the seasoning.
  • Some recipes call for browning these ingredients in 1/2 cup of butter and then draining the topping.  I prefer to leave the ramen and almonds as is (butter free) for a fresher taste!

Mix the salad, toppings and dressing all together in a large bowl, serve and enjoy!  This large recipe will serve 12.
